Purchasing an instrument can be a daunting process. That is why we encourage you to ask us to help you find a suitable instrument for your child. We will obtain several instruments and suggest the one that is the best value. After all, we have to hear the instruments every week! Furthermore we cannot expect to get results from a student who is playing on an inferior quality instrument. Sometimes knowing where to find a good quality instrument for purchase is difficult, which from time to time leads one to purchase an instrument from an online source. This is highly discouraged since you will not know what the instrument sounds like. All stringed instruments are handmade and thus will sound different. Labels inside instruments under 10k are usually meaningless since anyone can put a fancy label in an instrument. The two most important criteria for any student instrument are:

     1). Sound

     2). Setup

Without going into detail on these two points (especially the second one, to which even most musicians don’t give much thought), there are slight changes that can be made to various parts of the instrument that can make a dramatic difference in its sound and playability. These “tweaks” can be safely performed right here in our studio by us. Of course, if you are renting an instrument from a shop, we will most likely not change anything about it (since you don’t own it) unless it is a change of string or tailpiece. The beauty of owning your own instrument is that you can make small changes, many of which are inexpensive.

Being around instruments nearly all of our lives and our ongoing affiliations with instrument dealers, we guarantee that you will be happy with your purchase.

"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."

- Berthold Auerbach

We have a modest amount of rental instruments available. They are set up to professional standards (please read the paragraph below on Setup) and are regularly adjusted while you are renting your instrument. This ensures that through the various climate and weather changes your instrument will sound as good as possible.

Please ask about our Rent-To-Own options!

Many repairs can be done right here in our own shop!

From time to time, seams come unglued, bridges need to be replace and much more. It is very convenient for you as you can just leave the instrument with us and we will usually be able to return it to you within one or two days!
